Coach Ken Cruz
I was introduced to the game of golf by my father at the age of 12. Growing up, I played many junior golf tournaments and eventually competed at the University of California, Irvine. It was in college, my senior year, that I became a Christian. Many struggles and disappointments enabled me to see my need for a Lord and Savior of my life. I have been following and serving in many capacities ever since.
After college, I attempted to compete on the professional golf tour. After two years of traveling and being newly married, my wife and I really wanted to start a family. So, I stopped pursuing the PGA and have been blessed with four wonderful children, one of the best decisions I ever made. During this time, up until the present day, I still compete in golf tournaments, but as an amateur. I have been able to compete at highest amateur golf level among the best not only in the state, but also the nation.
I’m around golf a lot and am privileged to represent my Lord in this sport. I have been married for 23 wonderful years, truly a blessing to share life with my best friend.
