Mr. Bernie Francis

Coach Francis is the former Boys Varsity Basketball Coach and Girls Varsity Basketball Coach at Calvary Chapel High School. He coached the boys’ teams for 15 years and the girls for 3 years. Coach Francis also held the position of Director of Basketball Operations at Calvary, supervising the high school basketball programs and the NJB youth league serving Calvary Chapel Schools. Coach Francis has also coached JV baseball and currently coaches Track and Field. He has coached track and field for 8 years.

Coach Francis has taught mathematics at CCHS since 1998. He currently teaches Geometry, Algebra, and Physics. He is also the Head of the Math Department. Coach became a member of Calvary Chapel in 1980. Previous to teaching and coaching at Calvary Chapel High, he was the League Administrator at National Junior Basketball and continues to be involved with the organization on the local level and nationally.

Coach Francis graduated from Saddleback High School in 1975 and attended Cal State Fullerton and Hope International University.

Coach Francis has two brothers and two sisters, twelve nieces and nephews; eleven grandnieces and grandnephews. He enjoys Bible studies with his brothers, nephews, and close family friends. Coach always looks forward to spending time with his family at holidays. Coach’s life Bible verse is Philippians 1:27, “Only let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel and not frightened in anything by your opponents.”
