Coach McKenna Mejia

Coach McKenna has been part of the soccer community for 17 years. Soccer has always been a
part of her life and started playing at a competitive level at a young age. McKenna came to
Calvary Chapel in 2013 where she became a key part of the program. During her time at
Calvary, the team made appearances in CIF and also won a League Championship. McKenna
won many awards during her time here and led the team as a captain. She went on to play
collegiate soccer at Grace College where she would eventually become team captain in her last
year. While at Grace College, McKenna got her Bachelor’s in Exercise Science and her Master’s
in Business Administration.

While suffering from a chronic knee injury in college, McKenna saw that soccer was not her
everything. She saw God come through in amazing ways through this time and felt His love
when she needed it most. The foundation that McKenna stands on now is that soccer can build
a bridge between people to share the love of Christ.

2 Timothy 1:7 “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love, and
self-discipline.”
