TEAM C4 (Calvary Chapel Competitive Clay Team)

The team was formed this year with the assistance and interest of Rich Elliott, proud father of  (Michaela Elliott ’17,the inaugural club president). Rich, the certified Range Safety Officer, approached club advisor and head coach Ed Gonzalez (AKA: Mr. G.) with the idea and the rest is history.

The club started off with 52 students showing up at the interest meeting and after registration and a few parent conference meetings we were left with 20 Calvary students from all grade levels, boys and girls alike.

Students are insured and safety certified and shotgun qualified and nearly two thirds of the students have never shot a weapon before. Students are not only encouraged to join they are invited to come out and watch in the hopes that the team and interest continues to grow. We have two ranges that we visit every weekend for 10 weeks and we love to make it a family event.

People are surprised and excited to see and meet the ONLY Orange County High School Trap team and third in California and are very welcoming to our students. It even gives us an opportunity to spread the word of Jesus when the opportunity presents itself.

The club team will now practice on occasion and plans to gather again next spring for the upcoming 2018 season. If you are interested see Mr. G. for details. You may also follow us or find us on Facebook.
