Rose Parade Service Day

Helping set up for the Rose Parade was a once in a lifetime opportunity. It is incredible to watch the Rose Parade on your TV and be able to say, “Yep, I stood on that float” or “See those flowers right there? I glued them on myself”. However, it also gave me a deep respect for how organized the entire event is. That place is run like a well-oiled machine.

While we were there we busied ourselves with cutting roses, inserting flowers into water vials, placing flowers into foam boards, gluing flowers directly onto floats, separating seeds, etc. There was so much going on that night that it was difficult to see what every member of our team had the opportunity to accomplish. Next year, though, I may want to bring another jacket…looking forward to doing it again!
