The Calvary Chapel High School community service requirement: Students must complete 8 hours per semester. Community service hours cannot roll over from the 1st semester and count towards the 2nd semester. Community service is not complete until the student turns in the paper work into the high school office on or before the day it is due. The final day for  2nd Semester pink community service forms to be turned in to the high school office is June 1st, 2012.

Students were given an Approval Form in their Bible class. The form must be taken home, signed by the student and parent/guardian, and returned to their Bible teacher by Friday March 2nd. The Bible teachers will turn in the signed forms to Miss DeLargy, the community service coordinator, for approval.

For all/any community service opportunities students complete this semester, it must be approved by Miss DeLargy. Denial of community service will be given for the following reasons: 1. Failure to turn in the Approval Form for community service approval and volunteering somewhere that has not been approved by Miss DeLargy. 2. Failing to turn in the pink community service form on or before June 1st. The denial of community service credit for the semester directly affects the Bible grade.

***Seniors as stated in the student/parent handbook (pg.41): "If a senior does not complete their community service hours in the Spring semester prior to June 1, 2012, the senior will not be allowed to participate in the senior breakfast, graduation night, or walk in the graduation ceremony. Graduation fees will not be refunded in this circumstance."

When you volunteer with a non-profit organization or ministry please make sure you contact them in advance because they may require you to fill out waiver forms and/or have specific volunteer times.

Vacation Bible School/Summer Camps/Mission Trips: Volunteer with any church. Community service completed during the summer will count for the Fall 1^st semester hours ONLY. You will not receive community service hours for ANY/ALL organization or ministry certification or training.

Church Ministries: You may receive community service hours for serving for any ministry at your home church (i.e. worship, sound, ushering, hospitality, children’s ministry etc). The ministry supervisor must verify that you serve on a regular (weekly, bi-monthly or monthly) basis with that ministry. 

Serving at Schools: You will only receive 2 hours maximum per semester of community service for volunteering for staff at any school. Exceptions are for school community events (i.e. Open House, Come and See, Harvest Night etc.) Please get prior approval from the high school office.

Canned Food Drive Donations:  For every $10 you spend you will receive 1 hour of community service. You will only receive 4 hours maximum per semester. You must do the shopping yourself and you must turn in your receipt along with the community service form signed by the organization that collected the donation.

Samaritans Purse shoe boxes: You will receive 1 hour of community service for every box you complete. You will only receive 4 hours maximum per semester. You must do the shopping yourself and make sure the box is full and turn in your receipt along with the community service form signed by Samaritan's purse. Red Cross Donations:  Various times throughout the school year CCHS sponsors blood drives. Your hours will be dependent on whether you are donating blood or platelets. You will receive a maximum of 1 hour  of community service for a blood donation and 2 hours for platelets.

Evangelistic Crusades: You may receive community service hours for volunteering for Harvest, Somebody Loves You, etc. Attendance does not count, but counseling, ushering, parking lot, or set up/take down do.
